Hadith: Nabi Muhammad ﷺ said: The heart in which there is no portion of the Qur'an is like a desert house. (Tirmidhi: 2913)
Note: One should therefore make an effort to memorise the Qur'an. The least one can do is to memorise as much as is sufficient to perform salaah properly.
